I’m curious about the double squid P-line setup you mention. I actually have some of those pink squid lures in my tackle box, I found them to be pretty good trawling for dorado in Mexico. I’ve never thought of using them for rockfish. How are you rigging them? A double dropper with maybe #4 hooks?
Cool, thanks for the pointer. Just a couple of quick follow-ups, how do you rig them? A double dropper, or a Carolina rig, or …? Do you pin on some bait for scent or just go with the plain lure?
David, they’re sold pre-rigged in a double dropper setup. I’ve seen them at Turner’s and several other shops. Add a strip of squid and fish it. I like it as an option to put a bigger profile in the water when the current is too strong to fish a jig.
