Thanks PF. Just to be clear, I don’t think commercial fishermen are bad people. I grew up with a lot of people who did that for a living. What I think is that commercial fishing methods have gotten too good and left unchecked they can clean out an area pretty well. It hasn’t just happened where I grew up, it’s happened all over the world. I’m hopeful though that the effects can be turned around.
Sorry for your loss , I’ll be keeping you and your family in my thoughts.
About those commercial boats , you should look into their rules for bycatch and whether or not they allow high grading on species with number limits. High grading creates a great deal of dead bycatch. Email me if you want a better explanation.
Thanks B for going to the funeral. That’s a lot of help for Henry. Sorry, about the fishing; but I enjoyed reading your article. You’re such a good writer!! Have a great weekend with the kids!! Love, Auntie P
That’s sad 1) because your uncle died and 2) I remember those stories about fishing there and now that I know that that is happening up north ruins the fun for generations to come. Once I went fishing there hoping to catch another salmon and I used my cuda killer (chrome w/ blue mackie stripes) and lost it.
Well, just like they were able to save the WSB here, or how the salmon have come back in NoCal, this situation doesn’t have to be permanent. If I get something started, you may have to finish it to see people catching up there, but it will have been worth it. Love ya buddy. See you Friday.

What a creative way to talk about NOT fishing.
